Kai Kawasugi, DDS

Partner . Dentist

As far back as he can remember, Dr. Kai Kawasugi wanted to help people get better. At an early age he witnessed his uncle, who was a dentist, being thanked and embraced by a grateful patient for his transformative work on their smile. From that point forward, he was inspired to follow in his uncle’s footsteps and have an impact on those around him.

In 2004 Dr. Kawasugi graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry. He is a member of:

  • The American Dental Association

  • The Colorado Dental Association

  • The Metro Denver Dental Society

  • The 5280 Seattle Study Club

He is also certified in braces through the American Orthodontic Society and is a Platinum Invisalign® Provider. He is certified in Healthy Start treatment for children and is trained in sleep apnea and snoring appliance therapy.

Dr. Kawasugi also attended The Kois Center and has an extensive background in functional occlusion and TMJ therapy.

When he isn't crafting beautiful smiles in the practice. Dr. Kawasugi enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. Together, they enjoy the out-doors-especially snowboarding in Colorado and boogie boarding in Hawai`i.

Glenn Takaki, DDS

Partner . Dentist

With many family members in the medical field, Dr. Glenn Takaki knew early on that he would enter the health profession. His grandfather was a physician; his father is a vascular surgeon; an uncle is a dentist; his brother and sister are radiologists. Combined with a love of working with his hands, dentistry was the perfect career choice.

Dr. Takaki attended the University of Kansas City in Missouri to earn his dental qualification. Since then, he’s taken regular continuing education courses, most recently on implantology. He is a member of:

  • The American Dental Association

  • The Hawaii Dental Association

As a member of the Premier Dental Group HI team, Dr. Takaki enjoys seeing patients who are thrilled with the results of their dental care or see their pain quickly alleviated with the many solutions available.

Dr. Takaki is an avid fisherman, whether on the shore or from a boat. He likes to go golfing, is a sports fan, and cooks (he’s even a former sushi chef). He’s committed to being a positive force in the community and has volunteered at the local Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Gary Young

Partner

Gary Young has collectively 15 years of executive experience in the Dental Field. Prior to founding Premier Dental in 2016, Gary held executive positions at Hawaii Family Dental, Securitas, and Honolulu Coffee Company. In his free time, Gary coaches the Intermediate Football Team at Iolani School where he graduated from in 1991. He also holds BS and MBA degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and an Advanced Management Certificate from the Wharton School of Business.
